I’ve been tossing this idea around with some local folks including Sharkey, Toby, Dr. Raid, Forrest and others. And lo it’s time has come.

I don’t have a solid location or time but I am thinking either a Sunday Brunch event or a weekend evening (to accomodate those with Children). I personally would prefer a southeast location, but I know a lot of folks who are in Southwest or farther out near Hillsboro so I’m open to locations in that direction. If in the eastside then I’m thinking Lucky Lab (or maybe the one in SW?). Rose’s diner for bfast was also an idea.

Quite a few of us know each other from various conference and projects. I’d like make these events very informal but centered around discussing the cool things we are (or want to be) working on, are thinking of, or have done.

Any interest?

Okay, yea some folks are in the portland zone, but some
of us are also in remote zone so my preference is a rotating location for meetings so I am not trekking 1.5 hrs for meetings either.

My other preference is none of the avant garde breakfast places where they cram a lot of people in a room on tiny uncomfortable chairs so they encourage high turnover.
we want someplace comfortable, where conversations at a reasonable shout are possible.
Some other ideas:
Todai (once in the while)
outside locations (when weather permits)

Please count me in. I live in SW but can travel anywhere in the metro area. Prefer Fri-Mon meetings.

lucky lab is a great idea.. lots of space, good beer, inside or outside depending on the weather.

I can’t make it this Sunday but I’d like to do a small presentation on the Source Insight tool in the future if people are interested. It will be more about using it to do rapid source code auditing and won’t be able hard core code bugs. It’s just a neat tool.

I’ve got a house full of people at that time, so I’ll have to catch you all later.
