Looking for a group in Charm City; Baltimore MD. Discussions already began at the SecGeeks mailing lsit, http://lists.shmoo.com/mailman/listinfo/secgeeks, but here’s a posting for those aren’t aware of it.

So far there are 6 people interested and the Happy Hour at http://www.theoceanaire.com/Baltimore/ as the spot. No date or time yet.

First CharmSec gathering will take place Tuesday, May 15th from 5pm- whenever at the Oceanaire Seafood Room in Baltimore.

There should be adequate parking at/around Central Ave for free. Don’t park in the garages, the Valet Service is actually cheaper at $7.50. See you there!

Last year there were two attempts at a charmsec meetup. I missed both and want to make up for it.

Anyone else up for trying to gather on occasion to drink and generally have an informal setting to dring, rant, rave, and hear war stories?

I tried to gleen what works from the ChiSec meetups which seem to come down to location, timing, and avoid having them simply to have them. As such, this is my attempt at organizing:

What:
Informal meetup of infosec folks.

When:
Wednesday May 14th (humpday!)
7:00pm – whenever

Where:
Wharf Rat @ Camden (good beer, conveniently near 395 on Howard St & Pratt)
Barside. I’m not going to post a sign as the place is small. We’ll be the geeky looking folks in black shirts, right?

Why:
To talk security with other people who aren’t there just to get 3 CPE points.
