Yep, and security too. And beer and good food too.

How about we look to arrange a meeting in the latter part of August? I’d suggest the Westshore area of Tampa to be kind of central to Hillsborough & Pinellas. Any takers? Or better suggestions?

I propose a first meeting for next week. How about Thursday August 16th at 6pm at the Starbucks at Kennedy & West Shore in Tampa? I’m open to suggestions on either the day or the place, but we’ve got to start somewhere.

TampaBaySec #1 is in the books.

In attendance were: fellow Network and IT Consultant Charles, venerable developer Stephen, and myself. Having Stephen there allowed (OK, forced) us to look at things from not only the network perspective, but also from the application.

It was great fun. We will be doing it again. Stay tuned…

TampaBaySec #2 is being planned. We will shoot for the 3rd Tuesday of the month and see how that goes. The next meet will be Sept 18th at 6pm.

I suggest we meet at the Westshore Starbucks again (Kennedy & Westshore), unless anyone else has a better suggestion.

We had good turn out this month and actually ran for almost 4 hours. There were many good conversations on security, technology, and business.

Next month, we may meet at a new venue. I’ve proposed the bar at Lee Roy Selmon’s by the International Mall.

This seems to have stalled—are there only 4 IA types in all of Tampa, or has the list moved elsewhere? I’m going to be in the area of the local Phrack meeting this evening, so I’m gonna see if that exists, but when I saw Thomas Ptacek talking about the ChiSec meetup I thought I should look into the Tampa variant.
